Privacy
Kirityp collects nothing
Not a reassurance, a property of the build. Kirityp is sandboxed and ships without the network client entitlement, so the operating system will not let it open a connection even if it tried to. There is no account, no server of ours, and no analytics in the app.
What Kirityp stores
Your documents, as ordinary Markdown files, wherever you chose to put them — on your device or in your own iCloud Drive. Kirityp also keeps your settings (theme, paper size, editor text size) in the standard preferences store on the device. That is everything.
iCloud
If you keep documents in iCloud Drive, they sync between your devices through your own Apple Account. That is a relationship between you and Apple. We have no access to it, no visibility into it, and no copy of anything in it. Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
The preview and the PDF
Both are rendered on the device. Your document is never uploaded anywhere to be converted, and the syntax highlighting and language detection run locally in the app rather than calling a service. Kirityp works with the network switched off, on a plane, permanently.
This website
kirityp.eu is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure loading performance. These are aggregate and cookie-less: no cookie is set, no profile is built, and visitors are not tracked across sites. Server logs kept by the host may include IP addresses for a short period, as they do for any website.
If you write to support, we hold your message and address for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of the exchange. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your address to anyone.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to a supervisory authority. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email you sent us. The controller is GÜNES CONSULTING OÜ, Tallinn, Estonia.
Children
Kirityp is a writing tool with no social features, no user accounts and no data collection, and is suitable for any age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly edited in.
